Royal Bank of Scotland job cuts: sack PM not Islington workers, says Bridget

Bridget wants to save local jobs

The Royal Bank of Scotland is reported to be axing 3,000 staff over the next few weeks. And as the Bank has said it won’t be sacking staff at high street branches or in Scotland, this puts jobs at RBS’ Angel offices in the frontline for cuts.

Commenting on the news, Liberal Democrat campaigner Bridget Fox said,

“Royal Bank of Scotland is one of Islington’s largest employers. It’s more evidence that the recession is hitting our borough hard.

“It’s the Prime Minister who should be getting his P45, not Islington workers.”
